Robert “Bob” Lee Sawade, 78, of Erie, MI, died Friday, January 20, 2017, in his home. Born July 22, 1938, in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Ernest and Carrie Sawade. A graduate of Clay High School, he then enlisted in the US Navy. Bob was employed as boilermaker out of Local 85 in Rossford, working at the local nuclear power plants and refinery’s. He enjoyed boating, fishing and wood working. Bob was a former member of the Monroe Boat Club.
He is survived by his children, Curtis (Mary) Sawade, Chuck Sawade and Yvonne Maples; brother, Donald (Libby) Pettingill; sisters, Carol Sue (Warren) Montgomery, Dolly (David) Sherman and Damyan Prout and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Robbie Sawade
A gathering will be from 4-8 pm, Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Monroe County. www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
